Worship Services

WORSHIP AND MUSIC PROGRAM

Worship at First Presbyterian Church of Oceanside takes place in our sanctuary built in the round at 8:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m on Sundays mornings. Services of worship include music, reading of scripture, preaching, and prayer. Communion is celebrated once a month and occurs on the first Sunday of the month.

Our church is blessed with a variety of music and accompaniment to the worship. This includes special music by single performers, youth and children choirs, New Creation Praise choir, a Chancel choir , and a bell choir. You may order a cassette recording of any Sunday worship services.

Praise Sunday Worship 8:00 AM

Praise Worship Services are held in a casual environment which features a wide variety of praise choruses accompanied by piano, drums, guitar, and bass. The New Creation Worship Team lead congregational singing and offer vocal and instrumental special music. A Children’s Message is offered each Sunday.

Traditional Sunday Worship 9:30 AM

This is a worship service with a traditional flavor. Traditional Services include the rich heritage of sacred music with organ accompaniment. Our Chancel choir provides regular vocal selections in addition to special music provided by guest soloists and instrumentalists. Confessions and liturgies are read aloud.

Celebration Service 11:00 AM

The 11:00 service is a service of celebration as it is a mixing of the elements from the traditional worship, such as historic liturgies and hymns, with other songs of worship and praise. Children participate in the early part of the service, and then are invited to continue their church experience in a Sunday School setting.
