We are so happy to have you considering the Pastor Recruiting site for First Presbyterian Church of Oceanside. Our church is entering a time of transition as we search for a new Pastor to serve as head of staff and to lead us forward in our worship and service to our Lord. As head of staff, our next Pastor will have the opportunity to provide leadership and vision as we build upon our history and grow into the future.
As a church, we seek to be fully devoted followers of Jesus and to bless our community in the name of Christ. We live this out through our worship services, small fellowship groups where personal relationships can grow and in our support for Mission Activities in our community and the larger world around us.
We offer two worship services on Sunday morning - a Contemporary Service at 9:00 and a Traditional Service at 10:30. Sunday school is offered during both services. Our church members are active in many diverse groups. We offer Men’s Fraternity, a Men’s Bible Study, a Women’s Bible Study and an active Stephen Ministry Program. The Windjammers Group supports Christian fellowship activities for those over the age of forty. Our Preschool celebrates 45 years of outreach to the community, helping children discover the world around them, and come to know our Lord as Creator and Friend. Among other events, we host a Boy Scout Troop, a yearly Vacation Bible School, a Spirit of Christmas Fair and two MOPs groups to support mothers in our area with preschoolers. Presbyterian Women has two circles which meet monthly and work on many creative projects. Our Mission Committee has numerous outreach opportunities each year. Our church is in a beautiful beach community in North San Diego County. Our members are from Oceanside, as well as the nearby communities of Carlsbad and Vista. Through the links below, you can learn more about these cities and the relaxed California lifestyle we enjoy.
